Ophthacare is a clinically-formulated ophthalmic solution designed to address persistent ocular inflammation, dry eye syndrome, and bacterial conjunctivitis with a synergistic blend of natural extracts and modern therapeutic agents. Developed through rigorous research, it offers a multi-target approach to ocular surface diseases, reducing reliance on corticosteroids and antibiotics. Its unique composition supports corneal healing, soothes irritation, and restores tear film integrity, making it a preferred choice among ophthalmologists for long-term management of inflammatory eye conditions. Suitable for patients seeking a well-tolerated, non-habit-forming option, Ophthacare combines efficacy with an excellent safety profile.

Features

  • Contains natural anti-inflammatory agents such as Curcuma longa and Berberis aristata
  • Antibacterial properties targeting common ocular pathogens
  • Preservative-free formulation to minimize corneal toxicity
  • pH-balanced to match natural tear film (7.2–7.6)
  • Available in 10mL sterile dropper bottles
  • Compatible with contact lens use (after recommended waiting period)

Benefits

  • Reduces redness, swelling, and discomfort associated with chronic ocular inflammation
  • Enhances tear production and stabilizes the lipid layer of the tear film
  • Accelerates epithelial repair in cases of corneal abrasion or ulceration
  • Low risk of microbial resistance due to phytochemical composition
  • Prevents recurrence of symptoms in conditions like blepharitis and meibomian gland dysfunction
  • Improves visual clarity by maintaining ocular surface homeostasis

Common use

Ophthacare is commonly prescribed for managing inflammatory eye disorders such as allergic conjunctivitis, dry eye disease, post-operative ocular inflammation, and mild-to-moderate bacterial conjunctivitis. It is also used as adjunctive therapy in cases of blepharitis, corneal erosions, and ocular surface disease secondary to autoimmune conditions. Its anti-inflammatory and lubricating properties make it suitable for patients experiencing screen fatigue or environmental eye strain.

Dosage and direction

Instill 1–2 drops into the affected eye(s) 2–3 times daily, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Tilt the head backward, pull down the lower eyelid to create a pouch, and administer the drops without touching the dropper tip to any surface. Wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye medication. For contact lens wearers, remove lenses prior to application and reinsert only after 15 minutes.

Precautions

Do not use if the solution appears discolored or contains particles. Avoid wearing contact lenses while experiencing active eye infection or inflammation. If symptoms worsen or persist beyond 48 hours, discontinue use and consult an ophthalmologist. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use to maintain sterility. Not recommended for use in children under 6 years of age without medical supervision.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation. Avoid use in patients with known allergies to turmeric, barberry, or other herbal extracts. Contraindicated in viral or fungal keratitis without concurrent appropriate antimicrobial therapy. Not for use in perforated globes or severe corneal injuries.

Possible side effect

Mild and transient stinging or burning upon instillation (reported in <5% of users). Temporary blurred vision, itching, or redness may occur. Rare cases of allergic reaction (eyelid edema, conjunctival hyperemia) have been documented. Discontinue use if severe irritation or signs of hypersensitivity develop.

Drug interaction

No known significant pharmacokinetic interactions. However, avoid concurrent use with other topical ophthalmic products without a 5–10 minute interval to prevent dilution or incompatibility. Theoretical potential for reduced efficacy if used with topical corticosteroids without medical supervision. Inform your physician if using anticoagulants, due to mild antiplatelet properties of certain herbal constituents.

Missed dose

Apply the missed dose as soon as remembered, unless it is nearly time for the next scheduled dose. Do not double the dose to catch up. Resume the regular dosing schedule.

Overdose

Topical overdose is unlikely due to rapid nasolacrimal drainage. If accidentally ingested, seek medical attention. Symptoms may include gastrointestinal discomfort or nausea. Ocular overdose may cause temporary blurred vision or irritation—rinse thoroughly with sterile saline or warm water.

Storage

Store at room temperature (15–30°C). Protect from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children. Discard the bottle 28 days after opening to prevent contamination.
