Dosage and direction
For prevention of motion sickness in adults and children 12 years and older: Take 1 to 2 tablets (50–100 mg) 30 minutes to 1 hour before travel. Dosage may be repeated every 4–6 hours as needed, not to exceed 8 tablets (400 mg) in 24 hours.
For children 6 to under 12 years: Administer ½ to 1 tablet (25–50 mg) 30 minutes to 1 hour before travel; repeat every 6–8 hours as needed, not to exceed 3 tablets (150 mg) in 24 hours.
Do not use in children under 6 years unless directed by a physician.
Tablets may be chewed or swallowed whole with water. For best results, take on an empty stomach, though if gastrointestinal upset occurs, administer with a small amount of food.
Precautions
Avoid operating machinery, driving, or engaging in activities requiring alertness until response to the medication is known, as drowsiness is common. Symptoms of overdose may include severe drowsiness, seizures, hallucinations, coma, respiratory depression, and cardiovascular collapse. In case of suspected overdose, seek emergency medical attention immediately. Treatment is supportive and may include activated charcoal, IV fluids, and symptomatic management. Physostigmine may be considered in severe anticholinergic crisis.
Storage
