The area should be thoroughly cleaned and dried before each application. Hands must be washed before and after application to prevent spreading the infection. Treatment should typically be continued for 2 to 4 weeks, even if symptoms improve earlier, to ensure the infection is completely eradicated and to minimize the chance of relapse. Precautions
